Chapter 13

Bane had ants in his pants while their meeting continued. He barely paid attention to their conversation. He nodded every once and a while to make it seem like he was listening, but his mind was elsewhere.

He couldn’t wait to head upstairs and talk to Felix about the job offer. He hoped Felix would accept it and he’d hang around for longer than a few days or a week. He wanted to protect him and get to know him better.

Once he got upstairs and opened the door, disappointment plagued his spirits. Felix had fallen asleep on his bed. He slowly shut the door and tiptoed to the recliner beside the bed and sat down. He stared at his handsome face, tempted to kiss his sleeping beauty. But he didn’t want to wake him.

A scary thought crossed his mind. People who suffered head injuries were usually monitored for twenty-four hours afterward, especially while they slept, to make sure they had no head trauma or cerebral hemorrhaging. If they had, they could fall into a deep coma and never wake up.

What if that happened to Felix? He leaned forward about to nudge him awake when Felix turned to his side, rubbing his itchy nose. His eyes were closed, but he was mumbling, “Yeah, Bane, that’s the place. Ah, that feels so good.”

His ears perked. My baby is dreaming about me already! He grinned with joy, knowing that Felix, his love, was having a sexual dream about him.

Felix grunted. “Fuck, yes. Go deeper and faster.”

Watching Felix react the way he did to the erotic dream heightened Bane’s own arousal. His cock stretched and bobbed with every seductive moan or motion his mate made in his sleep.

His scent changed to a lustful, super active one that had Bane whimpering. He could tell his mate was close to climaxing. That’s how connected they were.

He swung his body from the recliner to the bed, making sure not to shake it and wake Felix. He bowed down closer, so he could better sniff his intoxicating scent when Felix’s eyes flew open.

He gasped. “What are you doing?”

Bane’s cheeks heated as if someone lit a match close to them. He gave him a bashful grin. “I was a…I was making sure you were okay. You were moaning and groaning and I thought you were in pain.”

This time, Felix’s cheeks reddened. “I was? No, I’m okay. My ankle hurts, but barely, and my head only hurts when I touch the bump. So you don’t have to worry about me.”

“That’s great news.” Bane sighed with relief. His brow cocked and his lips spread into a thin, naughty line. He couldn’t stop himself from asking the next question. He was a very curious, horny shifter.

“Well, the way you were moving and mumbling, you were having one hell of a dream. Care to tell me what it was about?”

Felix swallowed. Bane could see his mate’s evasive coyness fading and his prowess overtaking. He smiled as he pushed himself onto his bended elbows and stared deeply into Bane’s eyes.
